anyone played both demos ?? I always preferred 2k series, but wondering how Live is, especially the dynamic DNA feature.

played the Live Demo today. Much better than last year. Still think it's not at the level of 2k though.

Are you getting both? I am sure you will be picking up 2k9 but have you gotten it yet? http://www.nchv.org/

I picked up Live today. Plays pretty well. The DNA is pretty cool feature - I can't wait till the regular season starts to see it better though.

Picked up 2k9 today. This is my first NBA game since 2k1 on Dreamcast This might be the best B-Ball game ever. Amazing.

not going to even try Live. Reviews are not too good and 2k9 is really good. Can't see me liking Live more than 2k9.

Just picked it up along with Rock Band 2 and that four wheeler game... already forgot the name. I will likely return that game as I don't think it would get much PT from me. http://www.nchv.org/

Quick hits on both titles.
NBA Live 09 I was actually looking forward to with the DNA, and the demo made me feel very good about it. After the hype, I played a dozen or so games, and am left wondering what this really could have been had they been more thorough with it. There are a lot of gaps left untouched in gameplay. Be a Pro Mode is an excellent feature in NHL 09, but it is an afterthought here. Going up and down the court is a chore, and defense is extremely hard to get used to. I actually hated Live for the first 2 games, loved it, and then hated it again when I could not counteract the annoyances of the game. I probably will not play this again after picking up NBA 2k9.
As was said above NBA 2k9 is the best of video game basketball I have played, college or pro. The flow is excellent. The gameplay you actually feel like you can make a difference. The graphics are the best they have been, albeit still not perfect as there are a lot of glitches. While I thought Live was going to be a sleeper hit this year NBA 2k9 brought out the best I have played and delivered huge. There are some major items still to be fixed in NBA 2k9, online play, I have had numerous crashed when editing rosters, then trying to take them to the court, but if they get these fixed this will be the single best all around basketball game released to date.

haven't played live much at all. But it has restored my faith that NCAA Basketball might be good.

2k fanboys Just kidding. I went with Live just to have fun. Not really a big bball fan myself (rarely watch it), but wanted to have a title just to "pick up and play". I think what they did to their NHL title (2k) turned me off to their bball game. That said - I haven't touched NBA Live in a few weeks

The vs mode on xbox live with 2k9 is quite fun..... Playing online with friends vs the CPU is a lot of fun. http://www.nchv.org/
