Well, tonight (er, last night) I picked up my CE copy of Madden. Everything that I have read basically told me that I should be expecting more of the same "old Madden" that we were used to. I must say - people look way too much into games now a days. I found the game to be pretty darn good.
I played first a half game of Raiders/Jets, and it turned out to be a tight slugfest -- 3-0 Jets at the half. But you could see the defenses just working well on both squads. Past Maddens, you were able to do "bombs away" and the receiver would catch it - not now, which is a very welcome addition. But for once, it actually feels like football.
Head Coach was also included, and I was very impressed by the time I spend with it. Just the options on single player are mind numbing. Terry and I played a game online which was pretty cool (though I think I know why our connection failed in the fourth quarter). It was pretty neat playing a "text-type" game on Xbox Live. (btw- any Chief fans here should set out & replace Billy Cundiff ASAP!!).
All in all, I am really glad I got the game, and paid no mind to the "this game is crap" mindset that appears to be setting in with some.

For starters, do you sleep much :) I won't be able to get my copy of Madden or at least play it until Saturday as I am out of town all week. I was not even looking forward to Madden as I am pretty content with NCAA.... please don't get me excited about it :) Second, does Head Coach come free with the CE edition? If they game is worth its weight in water, the Falcons should suck :) Keep me updated while I am TDY in Boston. http://www.nchv.org/

I am going to pick up sometime today. I didn't pre order so I am wondering if I can find the CE edition.

The 4x100? That was pretty cool - never thought they would come back. So far the coverage has been better than expected. Bob Costas has limited his talking and face time which is good. Likewise, the timeshift from here to China is almost perfect for getting some nice prime-time coverage. http://www.nchv.org/

I guess I will have to get the CE edition. I really liked Head Coach before, I would have loved it if it were done a little better. The weekly / off season tasks took wayyyy too long and the AI needed improvement as far as opponent play calling went. http://www.nchv.org/

Picked up the CE edition today (360). This is the first Madden game that really looks "next gen" to me. Looks really good.

I was at the Galleria Mall in Cambridge, MA last night and some chic was trying to sell me madden.... her line was, if you hit someone and knock them down, they will get mud on them....... She was actually pretty cool, if there were more gamestore employees like here, I would goto them more often instead of trying to avoid them at all cost. http://www.nchv.org/

Madden is great. Love it. Head Coach is fantastic. I have no idea when there was a better value in football gaming than the Madden CE. Maybe 2K5 for $20, but this is still a pretty epic amount of football for $90 (or free since I got a review copy haha).

I like the intro of the game... where it finds your skill level though I question how accurate it is. The game is completely different than any other version I have played in the past. I do find it disturbing they left out the Vick cover inside the CE box yet include the Ray Lewis cover. http://www.nchv.org/

I actually just started trying to play both titles and put some time into them and Head Coach was very surprising. I actually beat the Raiders with the Niners 38-7. Madden perplexed me as I was rated All-Madden on everything but I think it was pass coverage or whatever it is called, but yet my running game was still effective, which has not always been the case with previous Maddens, even on the high difficulties. So here I am rated All-Madden with my running and passing, but yet effective with both, is that correct? Not what I expected after reading some of the threads on this.
